Independents back Gillard

September 7, 2010

It’s a win for stability of government and I think the Gillard government will last a full three years because independents are very reluctant to bring a Prime Minster down. It’s a big decision and they’re open to savage criticism that its the wrong call. Moreover they would lose the balance of power.

I welcome the fact that Tony Windsor raised climate change as a reason for his decision. This parliament, in spite of itself, will be judged by one thing: will it resolve the political deadlock on this issue and put a price on carbon, as most Australians want?

First I think its victory for common sense.

Second I agree with you about the climate change issue for the Liberals are just another mob of climate change deniers like most conservative parties.

However I do think that Sussex Street deserves some of the shame and blame here as they forced KR to back track on the issue which resulted in a loss of public confidence and support the ALP. And hence this current imbroglio we as citizens have had to put up with these past 17 days.

But as the add on TV says ‘I feel better now.’
